I'm alive! I bet you all thought I died or something... except I think most are friends with me on FB.

Sigh. It's been so long since I've been on DA that I don't even know what to write here. Life has just HAPPENED, you know? I feel like such a different person that it's impossible to give even an update of my life, because it's like a whole 'nother life, if that makes sense.

Things are going better for me. Better, and worse. Worse, but better. Figuring my life out. Getting REALLY FREAKING EXCITED for this summer. This summer. Glassmen. I'm marching with an effing drum corps, biotch. And it's going to be awesome. O. M. G.
I'm auditioning to change my major to horn performance at the end of the semester and preparing for a joint recital. It's really stressful and makes me feel anxious and it's a lot of work, but I think it'll be okay. I know I'm making the right decision regarding my major (despite reservations) and I'm really happy I finally had the guts to do it.

I feel old. That's all.
And I'm halfway a Bluecoat. I'm saying that right now, because I won't be able to say it after this weekend. Either I'll legit be a Bluecoat, or nothing at all.

K, so, I just found out something SUPER exciting a couple days ago, which is made possible by my brother's brilliant mind...

I'm getting my own DLSR camera!!!!!! No more film!!! My brother's gotten into photography a lot lately (he bought a DSLR for Christmas), and recently he just bought a bunch of stuff, set up a studio in his basement, and we bought Photoshop CS5/Lightroom (his money, my student discount since we both wanted it).

Long story short, ALL of my flutes and piccolos were stolen when my house was broken into a few weeks ago. Since I'm not playing flute anymore, we're just going to replace my wood piccolo, get a mid-level pro flute, and keep the rest of the insurance money. Part of the insurance money is going to cover the rest of the payments on my horn (YAY!!!!!), and I get to keep the money from my old piccolo (my parents get the rest. they are paying for college, after all...).

But, the money from my old piccolo is enough to buy a decent refurbished DSLR, with money to spare that I can save for (hopefully) when I march drum corps next summer. I'm so effing excited it's ridiculous. I don't know when the money will come through or whatever... but just know to be looking for some new pics soon-ish!!
